The people in your meetings never signed up for Marbles. That fact shapes every decision on this page.

The short version

• Everything Marbles knows lives on your Mac.
• There is no Marbles server, no account, and no analytics in the app.
• Marbles talks to two companies, Granola and Anthropic, using keys you give it. For email briefs, it also talks to Resend, with a key you give it.
• You can delete one person, or everything, at any time.

What Marbles reads

Your Granola notes. Through Granola’s official API, with a key you create in Granola. Marbles reads each note’s title, attendees, summary, your private notes and the transcript. It only sees notes Granola has already finished.

Apple Contacts. Read-only. Names, email addresses, phone numbers, company, title, birthday and photo, so it can match the people in your meetings to people you already know. Marbles never writes to your Contacts.

Your calendar. Read-only, through macOS. Marbles looks at upcoming events and who is invited, so it knows when to hand you a brief.

LinkedIn, if you choose. Only the Connections.csv file you export from LinkedIn yourself and drop into the app. Marbles never logs in to LinkedIn.

What Marbles never reads

• Your email, iMessage, WhatsApp or anything else on your Mac.
• Any Granola folder you exclude. Excluded folders are never fetched at all, not fetched and then filtered.
• Marbles does not need Full Disk Access, and never asks for it.

Where things go

Transcripts are read from Granola and sent to Anthropic’s API, using your own Anthropic key, so a model can pick out the personal details. Anthropic’s commercial API terms apply to that request, including how long it is kept and how it may be used. They are worth reading before you start.

Nothing else leaves your Mac. The database sits in your user Library folder and is protected by FileVault like the rest of your files. Your keys are stored in the macOS Keychain.

Email briefs are sent through Resend, to you only, when you turn them on and give Marbles a Resend key.

Sensitive things

Marbles marks some things as needing care: health, loss, faith, anything someone would not want repeated casually. Those appear in their own quiet section of a brief, never as a suggested opener and never in an email. Anything you mark private never appears in a brief at all.

Deleting

• Forget this person removes a person and everything Marbles knows about them.
• Delete all data, in Settings, removes the database and the keys from your Keychain.
• Uninstalling the app and deleting its folder in ~/Library/Application Support/Marbles removes everything else.

This website

This site sets no cookies and runs no tracking scripts. If we add analytics, it will be a cookieless, aggregate counter, and this page will say which one.
